A team from the Home Ministry and the Delhi Police Cyber Cell have joined hands to curb online fraud.
The right step taken in Delhi
Home Ministry and Delhi Police Cyber Cell have started 155260 helpline number. If you fall victim to any type of online fraud, call this helpline number immediately. Within 7 to 8 minutes the amount withdrawn from your account to the account to which it was transferred will go on hold.
To curb the incidence of online fraud, the Home Ministry launched a cyber portal https://cybercrime.gov.in/ and a cyber cell 155260 pilot project of Delhi Police last November but it has now been fully launched. At present this service is sufficient in Delhi and later it will be started all over India.
It is an interconnect platform with 55 banks, e-wallets, e-commerce sites, payment gateways as well as other organizations. Named the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting System. Victims of online fraud can be rescued in a very short time through this platform. So far more than Rs 3 lakh has been saved from 21 people through this helpline.
There are 10 lines of this helpline number so that this number does not get busy. If you call the helpline number 155260 you will be asked for your name, number and the timing of the event. Basic details will be sent to the respective portal and e-commerce dashboard. 2 to 3 hours of fraud is the most important. Complaints should be filed as soon as possible.
